Why does time in the gym repeatedly appear in students best-part-the-camp surveys?
Maybe it’s the huge trampoline or the tumbling mats. Or is it the balance beam and rings? Or is it the giant, foam-filled pit that you can jump in, hide in and simply have huge amounts of fun in?
As always though, safety is paramount, and students are run through the correct use of all equipment first. Circuits are next up, giving every student a chance to succeed while running, jumping, tumbling and balancing.
Later activities include hide-and-seek, foam-races and gladiators. And sometimes it’s so much fun even the teachers join in!
And for the history buffs: the gymnasium was built as a training facility for the Australian Olympic team by father and son team Lance and Paul Otto. Their company Acromat also supplied the gymnastic equipment.
